Working together in small groups, students and staff will discuss realistic but hypothetical cases that raise questions about how secularity, belief and/or philosophical convictions and inclusivity can be attended to practically. In plenary, we will then look together at how the groups answered the questions posed by those cases.
This conversation continues a broader discussion organized at the Central UvA level back in June, when students and staff from across the university came together to discuss religion and secularity at the UvA. The goal of that meeting was to develop a white paper or policy document. Similarly, this meeting aims to create space for an open, transparent conversation about religion and secularity with the aim of developing a policy framework.
