The Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences is offering an academic skills workshop series open to refugees in the second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year. We are currently looking for UvAstudents who would like to participate in this programme as buddies.

For whom

  • You are a Social Sciences student at the UvA, in your second year or higher
  • You highly motivated, dedicated and willing to participate in all the workshops
  • You have experience of engaging with culturally diverse groups of people You have a good working knowledge of English

What we offer

  • 17 workshops taught by different teachers from a variety of disciplines within the Social Sciences department
  • Trainings on the topics of diversity and how to effectively give peer-to-peer support
  • The possibility to become part of a network of socially engaged  students
  • The chance to contribute to an important cause

Practicalities

All the workshops will take place from March until June at the Roeterseilandcampus, weekly on Tuesdays from 15:00 until 17:00.
Please note that depending on the number of applications a selection procedure may be part of your application process.
