On Friday, the 28th of August the Graduate School of Social Sciences (GSSS) welcomed all new students starting a Master’s programme with a panel discussion, which could be attended live or online. In case you missed it you can watch it here.

"The COVID-19 Pandemic: Why does it matter? What does it change? What should we learn from it?”

After an official word of welcome of dr. Annette Freyberg-Inan, director of the GSSS, prof. dr. Joyeeta Gupta (Geography), prof. dr. Tom van der Meer (Political Science), dr. Danny de Vries (Anthropology) and Lazarus Kontozopoulos (student Medical Anthropology and Sociology) share their insights on the current pandemic. Together, they elucidate what we know - apart and together as the social sciences - and how we - students, scholars and (future) social scientists - can try to grasp and understand the current situation and navigate the challenges it poses to society.
