Living and studying in Amsterdam and at the University of Amsterdam can be different to what you are used to and more difficult than expected. How do you study the ‘Dutch way’? How can you adapt your study methods? Where can you find the help you need? How do you manage to live and study in Amsterdam and still keep in touch with family and friends back home?
In this workshop, we will discuss (inter)cultural educational differences between the Netherlands and other countries. We will assess various study methods and study skills such as academic reading, concentration, time management and planning. Participants will learn how to study more efficiently and effectively within the context of the Dutch educational system.
