All Master's programmes at the GSSS have a study adviser. Look in the Contact section for details of the study adviser for your programme.
Troughout their programme students can consult their study adviser about:
Information regarding (possibilities within) the study programme
Study plan, for instance in case of electives, internship, thesis problems, delays in their studies or graduation
Complaints about the study programme, lecturers etc.
Reference to lecturers, thesis supervisors, committees and organisations within or outside the faculty
Their personal situation, for instance when combining studies with top-class sport or a job or when struggling with a handicap, illness or other personal/family circumstances etc.
Doubts about their study track and/or a (temporary) break or change of their studies
At the start of the Research Master's Social Sciences students have an intake meeting with their study adviser. During this meeting individual study plans, ambitions and questions regarding the programme will be discussed and dealth with. Students can sign in on a specific date and time for this intake meeting. More information will be provided by the study advisor before the start of the programme.
At the end of the first academic year students can schedule an individual midterm meeting with the study adviser in order to discuss about their study progress (not obligatory) and to look ahead to the second academic year.
During the programme the study adviser can also schedule an individual progress meeting with a student in case (s)he deems this necessary.
