The Faculty Student Council (FSR) is elected annually from and by students of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences (FMG). These are the studies that belong to this Faculty: Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Communication Science, Behavior and Society, Education, Educational, Social Geography, Planning.
The main objective of the FSR is to represent the interests of the students. The FSR does this in consultation with the dean, head of the department. The FSR critically evaluates the faculty policies and offers suggestions that will benefit the students interests.
The FSR maintains close ties with the Central Student Council (CSR), the university-wide student consultative body. The CSR is concerned with issues that concern the entire University of Amsterdam, and not just the individual faculties.
