The Christmas recess will take place from Saturday, 22 December until Tuesday, 1 January. During this period most UvA buildings and facilities will be closed or have adjusted opening hours.

You can find the most important adjusted hours below:

  • Central Student Service Desk (CSSD): closed from 17:00 on Friday, 21 December to Tuesday, 1 January.
    • Please note: the CSSD will close early, at 15:00, on Thurday, 20 December. 
  • Study centres and libraries: only the University Library at the Singel is open during the Christmas recess (with the exception of 25 December and 1 January). All other locations are closed from Saturday, 22 December to Tuesday, 1 January. See specific opening hours on the website of the Singel Library.
  • Restaurants, cafés and coffee bars: closed from Saturday, 22 December to Tuesday, 1 January.
