As of 18 August, it will again be possible to consult the heritage materials, archives and other special collections in the Reading Room of the Allard Pierson. Booking a work place in the Reading Room is only intended for the consultation of the heritage collections. To consult these items, you must first receive confirmation that the material you requested has been made available to you. You must then reserve a work place in order to view the requested works.
The Reading Room is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 11:00 to 16:00hrs. You can book a work space via the contact form on the Allard Pierson website. Heritage materials can be requested via the Library catalogue, starting Friday 14 August at 2 pm. Requested items will be reserved for you for seven days.
To prevent the spread of coronavirus, the Reading Room has introduced stricter measures. In addition, there are a number of restrictions with regard to the consultation of materials. It is no longer possible to pick up and return your regular book loans at the circulation desk of the Reading Room. You can pick up and return these at the University Library Singel. Take a look at the opening hours.
