The Library is in a phased reopening. From Monday 6 July, the Library will further expand its (physical) services. From then on, borrowing and returning can be done at multiple locations, the Humanities Collections at University Library Singel will be reopened and extra study places can be offered. There is also good news for non-UvA borrowers: services are starting again for them.
From Monday 6 July, non-UvA borrowers will again be able to request, borrow and return books at the University Library Singel. Requests can be placed as early as Friday 3 July at 12.00 hrs. Under non-UvA borrowers are understood: private borrowers, alumni and borrowers from other universities. From Tuesday 7 July, it will again be possible for them to use a public PC to consult the digital collection. Reservation in advance is required. This can be done from today, Friday 3 July, via the library contact form.
In addition, non-UvA borrowers will be able to view the non-lendable works from the open Humanities Collections again. Reservation in advance is required for the collections as well. This can be done from today, Friday 3 July, via the library contact form.
The restart of services for non-UvA borrowers only applies to the University Library Singel location. Due to the limited space on the various campuses, non-UvA borrowers do not have access to other library locations. In addition, it is not possible for non-UvA borrowers to study in the library or reserve a study place, not even in the University Library Singel.
From Monday 6 July, it will again be possible for UvA students and staff to collect and hand in books at the P.C. Hoofthuis and at the Library Learning Centre on the Roeterseilandcampus. The University Library Singel will also be open longer for the collection and return of books, daily from 09.00 - 18.30 hrs.
Due to work on the roof of the Allard Pierson, the Reading Room will remain closed for the time being, which is expected until the end of July. It is not yet possible to request heritage materials.
From Tuesday 7 July, it will again be possible to consult the non-lendable works from the open Humanities Collection at the University Library Singel (E-building). The collection will be open from Tuesday to Thursday, from 11.00 - 16.00 hrs. Reservations are required and can be made as of today, Friday 3 July, via the library contact form.
