Adapted for the screen by the creator of the comic book Daniel Clowes and directed by Terry Zwigoff (Crumb) this coming-of-age story of two teenage girls and a hopelessly inept jazz afficionado is as much a critique of rampant American consumerism as well as a tender ode to loveable outcasts on the fringes of society and the culture at large.
