On Friday, 11 June, the Central Voting Office (CSB) announced the election results of the annual student council elections, held from 31 May - 4 June.

Central Student Council

Of the 39,919 students who were eligible to vote, a total of 4,244 voted in the Central Student Council (CSR) elections, a voter turnout of 11.2%. UvASociaal is again the largest party in the Central Student Council. They received 1,377 votes and got three seats. A party called 020, a newcomer, came in second with 988 votes and will get two seats. The De Vrije Student party (741 votes) and Inter (722 votes) will both also get a seat on the council.

The Activistenpartij UvA received 416 votes, too few to gain a seat on the CSR.

Economics and Business

At the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), the council seats will be divided among UvASociaal, List Sefa, 020 and Inter. UvASociaal is the largest party and will receive four seats. List Sefa will receive three seats, 020 two and Inter one seat. Voter turnout among FEB students was 12.4%.

Humanities

At the Faculty of Humanities, Trots op FGw (TOF) once again became the largest party, receiving seven seats on the Faculty Student Council. The Activistenpartij UvA and 020 will receive two seats. Because 020 took part in the elections with only one candidate, one seat will be unoccupied. The De Vrije Student one seat. The Faculty of Humanities saw a voter turnout of 12.3%.

Medicine & Medical interns

At the Faculty of Medicine, Partij MFAS and Partij LEEF will share the seats. Partij MFAS has become the largest party and will receive six seats. Because this party took part in the elections with five candidates, one seat will be unoccupied. Partij LEEF is receiving a single seat on the Faculty Student Council. The voter turnout at the Faculty of Medicine was 15.7%.

In the case of the student council for the medical interns, only Partij MFAS participated in the elections and will receive three seats on the council. A total of 11.2% of students cast a vote.

Social and Behavioural Sciences

The student council of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences (FMG) was elected using a system involving four subdistricts: Social Science, Psychology, Communication Science and Child Development and Education.

Social Science subdistrict

In the Social Science subdistrict, UvASociaal and 020 both received two seats. The De Vrije Student party won one seat, while Inter and Activistenpartij UvA did not receive enough votes for a seat on the student council. Of those entitled to vote, 17% did so.

Psychology subdistrict

In the Psychology subdistrict, 020 was the winner with two seats. Inter will receive one seat, while UvASociaal will not get one. Voter turnout was 10.7%.

Communication Science subdistrict

In the Communication Science subdistrict , UvASociaal and 020 both received a single seat. Inter did not receive enough votes to win a seat on the student council. Voter turnout was 7.4%.

Child Development and Education subdistrict

In the Child Development and Education subdistrict, only UvASociaal participated in the elections, receiving two seats on the student council. A total of 7.8% of students cast a vote.

Science

At the Faculty of Science (FNWI), three parties participated in the elections, LIEF, Slaafs – Eerlijk, Simpel, Bier and De Vrije Student. They all received enough votes for one or more seats. LIEF is the largest party and will receive eight seats, Slaafs three seats and De Vrije Student a single council seat. Voter turnout was 10.6%.

Faculty Student Council at the Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law also uses a district system. PPLE students could only vote for candidates from the PPLE district.

Law

At the Faculty of Law, OpRecht was the winner of the elections, receiving four seats. De Vrije Student will receive three seats and Inter a single seat on the student council. The turnout was 13.3%.

Law School PPLE

In the PPLE district many students voted, with a voter turnout of 49.1%, which is very high compared to other faculties. Inter was the winner, receiving three seats, while 020 will get one seat and UvASociaal no seats.

Dentistry (ACTA)

At the Faculty of Dentistry, only Kies ACTA participated in the elections, receiving all eight seats on the student council. A total of 23.7% of students cast a vote.
