After deliberation with the Central Student Council (CSR), the study rooms of the UB Singel will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. from 13 January to 12 April.
With the pilot, the Library wants to gain insight into whether there is a need for longer opening hours. During the pilot period there are two examination periods in which students make more than average use of the study facilities. The exam periods are from Saturday 25 to Thursday 30 January and from Saturday 14 to Thursday 26 March.
The pilot was set up with the CSR in response to their original request for a 24-hour opening. In addition to measuring usage and satisfaction with the extended opening hours, this pilot also aims to give the Library more insight into the required organisational efforts of a late opening. The evaluation of the pilot will be done in collaboration with the CSR.
The access policy of the University Library Singel and the opening hours of the Library of Humanities remain unchanged.
