Communication Science on the Spot will soon welcome its next guest speaker: Andy Torres, an entrepreneur, influencer, and founder of StyleScrapbook.
Andy Torres is the founder of StyleScrapbook. She began her career in sales and merchandising within the fashion industry in 2005. In 2007, she started her own business, StyleScrapbook, which is one of the first international fashion blogs.
Since then, Andy has delivered a TEDx Talk and became a leading voice within fashion and technology, giving talks at Social Media Week, Create and Cultivate, Campaign Hollywood, and Congreso X, amongst others. As a female entrepreneur, Andy has been the face of national and international campaigns, including Canon, Nike, Cartier, and L'Oreal.
Recently, she has designed a capsule collection with Sportmax and launched her own Social Media platform Should I Wear It? (SIWI), a fashion-focused app where users can get real-time feedback on whether they should wear and/or buy something.
Andy will be interviewed by Entertainment Communication professor Dr Jessica Piotrowski about her career and how the social media industry has developed over time. Specifically, they will discuss Andy’s vision on future developments and how she wants to bring authenticity back to an industry overloaded with content. As always, there will be drinks afterwards at CREA.
Make sure to join the session to learn more about Andy and to ask her all your questions!
