Take an interdisciplinary elective in the upcoming semester

With the current war in Ukraine, has the Cold War ended at all? What role do science and technology play in the pursuit of happiness? What is needed to boost the transition to a circular economy? In what ways do digital transformations reduce - or exacerbate - social inequality? Dive into current events and take an elective at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies in the first semester of '22-'23. The new course listing is online now, registration starts on June 13.

Each semester, the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (IIS) offers a selection of interdisciplinary electives, relevant to the challenges our society is facing today. This coming semester's electives include:

The interdisciplinary electives of the IIS are open to students from all faculties of the UvA. UvA students can register via SIS. Browse the electives course listing and find more info and the required SIS codes on the website of the IIS. Registration is open from 13 June until one week prior to the start of each course.
