All students and employees at the University of Amsterdam who have a UvA, AUC, ACTA or AMC email address.
As a panel member you will receive an invitation to voice your opinion on a specific topic several times a year. This can be through an online questionnaire, a panel discussion or an interview. With your answers, the University of Amsterdam can improve its communication and services. Participation is voluntary for each study; you can choose per invitation whether you want to take part or not.
The UvA finds it important that its communication and facilities match the wishes and expectations of students and employees. Therefore, your opinion is of great importance: it helps us make crucial improvements. That’s why there is a lottery to win vouchers among the participants of each study, the number of vouchers depending on the number of participants and the type of study. You can win a Bol.com or Albert Heijn voucher, for example. In addition, you are the first to hear about the results of finished studies and the first to know what the UvA will do with those results.
If you no longer want to take part in the UvA panel, you can end your membership at any time by sending an email to email@example.com.
You can participate as many times as you are invited. How often that is, depends on the types of studies that are carried out. In some types of research, such as interviews, it is possible that there are limited spots available to participate.
You will receive an email as soon as there’s a study you can participate in. For a questionnaire, this email will include the link through which you can take part directly. For other types of research, such as a panel discussion, you can sign up through the email and will receive an official invitation to participate later.
The duration of a study depends on many factors. Filling out a questionnaire will take approximately 8 minutes and an interview will take roughly one hour. We will always let you know the duration of the study before you accept the invitation.
Each participant in a study is assigned a unique code. Based on these unique codes, participants are randomly selected to win a gift voucher. At the start of each study, the number of vouchers to be won will be communicated.
