On 3 December, ALP and the Amsterdam Centre on the Legal Professions and Access to Justice, are organising a movie screening in Kriterion of the movie The Mauritanian. The film will be followed by a Q&A about the legal ethical issues that are displayed in the film.

On 3 December, Kriterion will screen the film The Mauritanian. The film is about Guantanamo Bay prisoner Mohamadou Salihu, who was imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay for 14 years, tortured and eventually released. The film focuses on the legal struggle of his lawyer, Nancy Hollander, as well as the ethical dilemma’s faced by the prosecutor, and how they are frustrated in their work by the CIA/'secrecy' rules of the US government. Nancy Hollander is played by Jodie Foster who received a Golden Globe for her performance.
After the screening there will be a Q&A to discuss the legal ethical issues that arise in this film. Participants include Iris van Domselaar.
