Graduation and degree certificate FAQ

Before you apply for your degree certificate

  • What is my official date of graduation?

    Your date of graduation is the last business day of the month in which you applied for your degree certificate, provided you have fulfilled all other requirements by that date.

  • When should I terminate my enrolment via Studielink?
  • Can I have my degree certificate sent?

    We do not post degree certificates to addresses in the Netherlands. You can however authorise someone else to pick it up for you. If you failed to provide notice when you submitted your application but nonetheless need to authorise someone else to collect your degree certificate, please contact the Education Desk.

    If you would like to have your degree certificate sent to an address abroad, please let us know when you submit your graduation form. 

After applying for your degree certificate

  • I am unable to collect my degree certificate in person. Can I authorise someone else to collect it for me?

    Yes. When you apply for your degree certificate, please indicate that you intend to authorise someone else to collect it for you.

    You will receive an authorisation form. The degree certificate can be collected upon presentation of the filled-in authorisation form accompanied by a copy of your valid ID (passport, driver’s license or Dutch ID card) and the valid ID of the person you have authorised to collect the degree certificate.

    If you failed to provide notice when you submitted your application but nonetheless need to authorise someone else to collect your degree certificate, please contact the Education Desk.
