The detailed Study Programme for the Master Information Studies can be found in the Course Catalogue.
Here you can download the curriculum schemes for the different programmes:
The electives you can choose from are listed in the TER (Teaching and Examination Regulations). You can find the TER here.
You can also find the study programme in the course catalogue.
There is also a possibility to take a programme related elective course outside of this list. You will need to get this approved first by your trackcoordinator (by email) and the examinations board (by submitting your study plan in the SPA application).
The periods you choose to take your electives in is up to you. You can also follow electives in other periods than depicted in the curriculum schemes, but take a good look at your planning before deciding this, because there might be overlap or you might have to do too much work in one period.
If you are a part time student and want to take an elective in period 5, you can choose any programme related course at the UvA or another university. Please be aware that you need permission from the examinations board first. This can be obtained by submitting your study programme in the study plan application.
Here you can find a collection of courses at UvA's Graduate School of Informatics that might be of interest to you. These are pre-approved by the Board of Examiners.
If you have any questions about this, please contact your study adviser: Cecilia Sigvardsdotter.
