Reducing stress with Compassionate Mind Training

In this training, we will help you examine the nature of stress, and how to recognize it when you get caught up in it. We will use techniques from Compassion Mind Training to help you balance your mind, body and actions.


This Compassionate Mind Approach combines evidence-based and research-based Western therapy techniques such as CBT with Mindfulness and recent research on human development and brain studies.

Date and time

This training will be offered once or twice in 2019-2020:

  • October-November 2019: Wednesday 16, 23, 30 October, 6, 13 and 20 November 2019 (from 15:00-17:00). This training has been completed.
  • As soon as the dates of a second group are known, they will appear online here.

Each training consists of 5 meetings. If the series contains more than the specified number of data, the trainer drops one or more data during training.

Practical information

  • Language: English.
  • Location: Roeterseiland Campus (REC). The exact location will be made known after you have registered.
  • Participation: a maximum of 12 participants.
  • Please note that it is important - for yourself and for the group - that you are able to attend all sessions.
  • Costs: free of charge.
  • Offered by the Student Psychologists (UvA Student Services).
