Attend the introduction meetings

To help you get started in Amsterdam, the University of Amsterdam and the Faculty of Humanities will organise several introduction meetings before the start of the semester. The programme introduction meetings will take place in the first week of classes, from 31 August to 4 September. We are trying to organise as many meetings on-campus as possible, but there will be online alternatives as well.

Faculty introduction meeting (online)

At the Faculty introduction meeting, you will receive practical information about studying at the Faculty of Humanities and in Amsterdam. It is also a  great way to meet other new students at the Faculty, albeit online.

  • For international Bachelor's students: Monday, 24 August, 11:00-12:00. It is not necessary to register for this meeting.
  • For all Master's students: Tuesday, 25 August in two sessions: 9:00-10:00 CEST and 16:00-17:00 CEST. If you want to attend this meeting, it is mandatory to register (see introduction meetings Master's programmes below)
  • For pre-Master's students: Tuesday, 1 and Thursday, 3 September (see introduction meetings pre-Master's programmes below)

Programme-specific introduction

Most programmes are organising a programme-specific introduction during the first week of lectures (31 August - 4 September). You can find these in your (personal) timetables at the timetables website (rooster.uva.nl) or in the MyUvA app.

We are trying to organise the introductory meetings on-campus wherever possible, so that you can meet your fellow students in real life. In light of the limited room capacity, it is important that you register for the meeting. Bachelor's students can register via the intake form that they receive by email. Master's students can register via a form on this website.
