Important information regarding exchanges in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022

All physichical UvA exchange programmes in the 2020-2021 academic year have been cancelled. This applies to both incoming and outgoing exchange students, regardless of the destination.

Possible alternatives will vary per student and home university, and could range from postponing the exchange to participating in a virtual exchange for example. You are advised to stay in contact with your home university international office.

Important notice: at the end of April 2021, the Executive Board of the UvA is expected to make a decision on the feasibility of exchanges in the 1st semester of 2021-2022 (dependent on how the COVID-19 pandemic will evolve). Until that time, applications cannot be accepted.

In case exchanges can be resumed in 2021-2022, it will be possible for EU / EEA residents to apply as free movers (independent exchange students) at UvA Economics and Business on this website.
