Sign up for theatre play SAFE SPACE on social safety in student life
Together with the Time Out Foundation, the UvA is organising SAFE SPACE, an interactive theatre piece on social safety in student life, on 22 November. SAFE SPACE exposes issues and facilitates conversation with students, lecturers, confidential advisers, student advisers and education support staff. We make the subject discussable and look at different roles in a socially unsafe situation. What can we learn from this? What can you do yourself? And how can we do better?
Interactive and investigative
Time Out makes SAFE SPACE in co-creation with students, so the performance connects with real-life situations and contains recognisable situations. After the performance, there will be a workshop by Gelijkspel and a serious game by Talk That Talk.
The performance will travel across the country over the next year and a half, visiting various universities, student associations, study associations and educational institutions. On recommendations of the Social Safety Taskforce (2019-2020), the UvA has been involved in the creation and development of SAFE SPACE as one of the partners from the beginning.
