In August 2021, the Dutch Student Orchestra (NSO) will perform an adaptation of Richard Wagner's masterpiece Der Ring des Nibelungen. The adaptation is by Henk de Vlieger. The UvA is holding a ticket draw among students and staff.

Fifty tickets will be given away for each of the following performances:

  • Friday 6 August, 20:15 – 22:15
  • Sunday 8 August, 14:00 – 16:00
  • Tuesday, 10 August, 20:15 – 22:15

In this work, which is over an hour long, all 110 musicians will take the audience through every orchestral highlight from the 16-hour opera cycle. In addition to this colossal work, the NSO will perform a commissioned composition by the talented young composer Thomas van Dun. Light artist Teus van der Stelt will transform the Almere’s top sports centre into a Valhalla, where an absolutely unforgettable evening or afternoon awaits you.
