About the Dutch Higher Education Premium

In March 2021, the minister awarded the first Dutch Higher Education Award. The award was created to increase the appreciation of education with a large or special impact and to reward this education. The premium is awarded to education teams that have delivered an outstanding or special performance with regard to innovation or improvement of education. The premium (€1.2 million for the number 1) is awarded annually to three educational teams from

higher education with an applied emphasis (HBO) and three from higher education at universities (WO). The premium helps education teams to finance projects for the renewal or improvement of higher education. For more information, see the website of the Dutch Higher Education Award.
