Major ICT maintenance work will once again be taking place during the weekend of 2 and 3 May.

Although the maintenance work will be performed throughout the entire weekend, we have managed to minimise the impact this will have.

How will this impact the availability of ICT services during the weekend?

Saturday, 2 May

All ICT services can be interrupted several times between 10:00 and 12:00 a.m., for example:

  • All UvA websites (such as, and
  • Canvas
  • UvA email
  • Web lectures
  • Login to UvA workplaces
  • Printing
  • Access common network drives (H and P drives) and your own personal network drive. However, you do have access to locally stored files on the ICT workstation managed by the UvA.

Sunday, 3 May
Throughout the entire day

All ICT systems and services will be tested. Although you should in principle be able to use the systems and services during the testing, their functionality cannot be guaranteed.

Do you need data or files during the weekend? Make sure you save them locally on your computer in time, or print them out in advance.

Why is a major ICT maintenance work weekend necessary?

During the maintenance work weekend, the network will undergo necessary maintenance work. This maintenance work is done to improve the performance and availability of systems.
