Exam period: extended opening hours and additional study rooms

Exam time is a busy time. Therefore, the Library offers extended opening hours. From 17 until 27 October several lecture rooms are available for studying. The Posthoornkerk is also used as a study space. There are online study sessions in the Online Study Space and room for socializing: on Monday, October 24, the second edition of the UB Diner takes place at the University Library Singel.

Extended opening hours

Check the study spaces pageExternal link for opening times during the exam period (17- 27 October) and keep an eye on the information screens on campus for additional study spaces.

During the weekend of 22 and 23 October, Learning Space REC A1 will be open from 08:00 to 18:00 and lecture rooms in REC E on the first floor will be available as study areas.

This exam period, Science Park is offering more study spaces, namely 225 study spaces in the brand new LAB42. To book lecture rooms to study in, see MapiqExternal link, inquire with your study association or at the library desk.

Access policy tightened

A tightened access policy applies during exam periods. Please note that the Library is only accessible with a valid UvA student or employee card. External borrowers can only pick up or return books; use of study places is not possible.

Study in the silence of a church

Those looking for a special place to study can visit the Posthoornkerk from Saturday 22 to Monday 24 October. From 09:00 to 19:00, 75 study spaces are available. There is free coffee, tea and Wifi. Reservations are required: Reserve a study spaceExternal link

Online Study Space: Study-SOS

During exam time, there are hosted study sessions with fellow students and workshops. During the short workshops you make immediate progress and during the Stress Recesses our student hosts offer tips or a listening ear.

The program, called SOS, takes place Monday through Thursday, from 10:30 - 15:30, in the Online Study Space during collaborative study sessions. These study sessions consist of set study blocks and breaks accompanied by a student host. Registration is not required. You can begin your study session in MsTeamsExternal link. Join the UB Dinner

During exam week, on Monday, Oct. 24, it is once again the UB Dinner. A cozy dinner of one hour, where we introduce you to recipes from the collection of the Allard Pierson. Afterwards, you can go into an evening study session full of new energy. More information and registration
