Password regulations

The password regulations for the UvA state that all staff and students must change their UvAnetID annually.

Tests show that many users are careless with their password or that they reply to phishing emails. This action can lead to password leaks and misuse.

Changing your password on a regular basis reduces these risks and ensures that users remain aware of the importance of their password. The UvA is working on additional methods of improving security. In future, we will increasingly use additional authentication tools.

From 2018 onward, you will receive a message as a staff member from the UvA's Identity Management system when you must change your password.
