Quality Agreement Funds

The government has allocated extra funds to universities and universities of applied sciences for the purpose of improving the quality of higher education in the Netherlands. The institutions can use these funds to implement improvements as long as they fit with what are referred to as ‘quality assurance agreements’.

As UvA EB we have chosen to invest in our organisation, quality improvement and innovation of education within the context of a large, international student population. For this purpose we have identified 3 goals with a number of corresponding projects to achieve them:

  1. Small within large: create small-scale educational experiences within a large international student population.
  2. Feedback: provide more activating and motivating education by improving feedback possibilities and skills.
  3. Learn in context: make our education more personal and meaningful by embedding teaching in a social context and providing the best possible career preparation.

We are developing these goals in different ways. For example through the appointment of teaching assistants, allocating extra lecturer hours for educational development, developing  educational support, training and internships for students, and by organising workshops for lecturers and developing feedback tools.
