The UvA Faculty of Economics and Business offers various minors which could complement your degree programme. To facilitate your application for admission, we have drawn up a step-by-step plan.
It is important to familiarise yourself with the options. An overview of all the minors offered by the UvA can be found here. Please note that this range pertains to the current academic year, which may differ from the range for the next academic year. Information about all the minors provided in the following academic year will be available in the Course Catalogue as of June.
Once you have chosen a minor, assess whether you meet the entry requirements. Some minors have an application deadline and/or limited capacity. For this reason, please make sure to consider the options and apply for admission in good time. You may also be required to ask your own degree programme's Examinations Board for permission to take a minor.
Apply for admission to the minor using the online application form in the Course Catalogue on the ‘Minor’ tab. You will find the form at ‘Application and admission’ for the relevant minor.
The Student Administration will consult the minor coordinator and you will receive a decision on your admission by email. Processing your application for admission may take up to 10 working days. You will not be able to register for courses in the meantime; see Step 4. Would you like to be sure that you will be able to start the minor? Make sure that you apply for admission before the start of the course registration period (preferably before 1 June).
If you are a Bachelor's student at a different research university or university of applied sciences, you must enrol as a guest student through Studielink before the start of the course registration period. You cannot proceed to Step 4 without being enrolled as a guest student. Depending on the minor that you wish to take, enrol as a guest student in the following degree programme:
If you are an UvA student, make sure that you stay enrolled in your Bachelor's while taking the minor. No further action in Studielink is required on your part.
If you wish to take part in a degree programme, you must have a valid course registration. As a minor student, registering for courses will usually be your own responsibility. An exception is if you intend to take a minor in Entrepreneurship, Amsterdam Data Science and Artificial Intelligence or Sustainability and Economics, in which case the Student Administration will take care of the course registration for you.
If you have any problems registering for courses, please contact the Education Desk as soon as possible.
