You are allowed to include a minor as an extracurricular component on the degree certificate supplement. Extra curricular courses do not count towards the GPA. Just like the approval for your minor in the compulsory part of your study programme, you do not need to request approval if it concerns a UvA minor, as long as the minor does not show overlap with other courses in the study programme. However, if it concerns a minor from another university, students do need to get approval from the Board of Examiners in order to include the minor on the degree certificate. For more information, contact the Education Desk.
