Electives obtained at the UvA

Do you wish to add one or more courses you have passed at UvA Economics and Business or at another UvA Faculty to your study programme as a free-choice elective?

It’s only possible to add elective courses offered by UvA Economics and Business in your academic plan if you have registered yourself for a specialisation. If you have not done this so far, you will not be able to see the list of free choice electives in your academic plan and select them. It is possible to switch from one specialisation to another later, should you have other plans by then.

If you want to include an elective offered by another UvA Faculty, you will also have to register yourself for a specialisation first. Only if you have done that you will be able to submit a request for approval by submitting a Replacement request. Follow the instructions in the Free-choice electives in SIS PDF document. Once you have added the URL of the course catalogue to your request, you can submit your request. Besides that, there is no need to hand in any additional documents such as a transcript of grades. The request will be checked and subsequently approved or rejected. The processing time of the request is six weeks.
