On Saturday Student Meditation will host a 4-hour mini-meditation retreat, suitable both for beginners and more experienced meditators. Different types of meditation will be practiced, e.g. breath meditation, body scan and walking meditation. A nice way to start the weekend relaxed!

Student Meditation is a student-run society that organises free daily guided meditations. They invited Kristiaan bij de Vaate to host this retreat. While studying psychology, Kristiaan became interested in meditation and its effects on well-being. He traveled to India, where he was introduced to Vipassana meditation. He has practiced meditation for many years and eventually he was most drawn to mindfulness-based stress reduction. This is an eight-week evidence-based program that offers secular, intensive mindfulness training to assist people with stress, anxiety and pain. By now, he is an experienced teacher in this field of mindfulness & also self-compassion!
He also has his own coaching practice in Amsterdam and is currently studying to become an integrative counselor.
