The next course registration period, for semester 2 of the academic year 2021-2022, will take place from Tuesday 25 November 10:00 until Tuesday 30 November 23:59. Please read the step-by-step guide below carefully. When you register yourself for a course, you are also automatically registered for its exams, resits and Canvas page.
The course registration for the programs in Communication Science will be different this time than you are used to. We participate in a pilot procedure and take place in a new system called GLASS. This system has the big advantage that it doesn't work with the 'first come, first serve' principle anymore. All students who have registered themselves within the course registration period will have the same chance to be placed in a specific course.
Go to the online course catalogue, find your degree programme and select the courses you want to take. You need to register for the courses listed in your acceptance letter.
We will register you for the online crash course Foundations in Communication Science if you have been informed by the admissions board that you will need to take it. An invoice for this crash course will be sent to you by e-mail in July or December, depending on whether you start in the first or second semester.
In the course catalogue, click on the course you want to follow and click on 'add to planner'.
If it concerns a course within the pilot, you will be automatically forwarded to GLASS and log in there.
You will receive a pop-up indicating whether the course is open for registration. If yes, then choose 'add to registration'. The course will appear in the ‘Registration’ column.
Repeat these steps for all courses. Your registration for these courses will be processed on 3 December.
You can also add courses by clicking on '+Add course' on your planning board. You will have to fill in the Course catalogue number, which you will find in the Course Catalogue.
Make sure you check if you are registered for all the courses listed in your acceptance letter.
Please log into GLASS (after receiving the email) to find out in which tutorial you have been placed.
Optional: you will be able to use the clock icon in the registration column to designate up to 2 half days when you would prefer not to follow any education. Where possible, this will be taken into account when allocating students to courses and tutorials.
You can unsubscribe from courses in GLASS by clicking on a course for which you are registered and pressing the 'unsubscribe' button in the window that opens.
