Current Master's student course registration

The next course registration period, for semester 2 of the academic year 2021-2022, will take place from Tuesday 25 November 10:00 until Tuesday 30 November 23:59. Please read the step-by-step guide below carefully. When you register yourself for a course, you are also automatically registered for its exams, resits and Canvas page.

Important: New course registration system GLASS

The course registration for the programs in Communication Science will be different this time than you are used to. We participate in a pilot procedure and take place in a new system called GLASS. This system has the big advantage that it doesn't work with the 'first come, first serve' principle anymore. All students who have registered themselves within the course registration period will have the same chance to be placed in a specific course.

Step-by-step guide to course registration

  • Step 1: Make sure you have an active Studielink enrolment
  • Step 3: Plan and prepare

When registering for your electives, there are some important things to keep in mind:

    • You will have to register yourself for two electives and your Master's thesis.
    • A Studielink enrolment is necessary for course registration. We strongly recommend you to request enrolment at least one week before the start of the course registration period as it can take up to 48 hours before your enrolment request has been processed.
    • Make sure to register for no more than two electives. If you register for three or more electives, you will be randomly deregistered by the department.
    • Selecting groups is no longer necessary. You only have to register for the courses.
    • You still have to check on if there is overlap between your two electives. If there is overlap, it's not possible to follow those two electives at the same time. Make sure you choose two electives without overlap.
  • Step 4: Find your courses and add to Planning board

Go to the Course Catalogue, find your electives and your Master's thesis course and click on ‘Add Course to planner’.

Make sure you add the right Master's thesis course to your course registration. Find the right course catalogue numbers below:

    Thesis Corporate Communication

    Thesis Entertainment Communication

    Thesis Persuasive Communication

    Thesis Political Communication

  • Step 5: Login in GLASS

If it concerns a course within the pilot, you will be automatically forwarded to GLASS and log in there.

  • Step 6: Add course to registration

You will receive a pop-up indicating whether the course is open for registration. If yes, then choose 'add to registration'. The course will appear in the ‘Registration’ column.

  • Step 7: Repeat these steps for all courses

Repeat these steps for all courses. Your registration for these courses will be processed on 3 December.

You can also add courses by clicking on '+Add course' on your planning board. You will have to fill in the Course catalogue number, which you will find in the Course Catalogue.

  • Step 8: Check your registration

Make sure you check if you are registered for two electives and your Master's thesis.

Please note: If you follow an alternative study programme, make sure you include all courses you need to follow according to your studyplan.
