If you want to terminate your enrolment because you obtained your degree certificate or because you want to stop your studies, follow the steps below.

After requesting to terminate your enrolment in Studielink , the UvA will terminate your enrolment on the last day of the month in which you wish to end enrolment. If you submit your request after 31 May, your enrolment will not be terminated until 31 August. Enrolment termination with retroactive effect is not possible.
If you are terminating your enrolment because you are graduating, you must request to terminate your enrolment in Studielink giving the reason ’graduation’. The UvA will then terminate your enrolment on the 1st of the month following your graduation date. If you submit your request after 31 May, your enrolment will not be terminated until 31 August.

Once your enrolment is terminated your student ID card is no longer valid. The UvA recycles old cards. Hand it in at one of the service desks or send it to:

If you make use of DUO student grants and loans, and you are terminating your enrolment at the UvA, you must cancel these as well. You can read how to do this on the DUO website.
If you cancel your student grants and loans, you must also cancel your student travel product. You can read how to do this on the DUO website.
Tuition fees are refunded for the months in which you are not enrolled.
