Requests to the Examinations Board
Before you approach the Examinations Board, please make sure your question/request is relevant and applicable to the Examinations Board. You can check this with your study advisor.
The education desk provides you with all the necessary support concerning regulations and processes which you often encounter as student. For example, the education desk can help you with questions about the registration of your grade or explain how you can apply for your diploma. If needed, you can also be referred to the study advisor.
It is advised to discuss your request with the study advisor before submitting it to the Examinations Board. He or she helps you to determine which documents you will need to send the Board so that they can evaluate your request most effectively.
Submitting your request
You may send the Examinations Board a request at any time during the academic year. For Mathematics/Chemistry/Physics & Astronomy you can send your request to email@example.com or use the application Acadplan.
Depending on the nature of your request, you may have to submit additional documents such as academic transcripts or course descriptions.
Please note that the Examinations Boards only evaluates requests which are complete and contain all the relevant documents.
You will receive a response within eight weeks after submitting your request. Response times may vary during periods in which no education takes place. It is therefore important to submit your request on time – especially if the decision of the Board can influence your graduation. As a rule, the Examinations Board tries to evaluate students’ requests as soon as possible.
What kind of requests can I submit to the Examinations Board?
Study Plan Application (SPA)
For approval of your personal study plan (which is needed to graduate) and other requests concerning your personal curriculum (approval of free electives, exemptions) you have to use the SPA (Study Plan Application).
You can find more information about the SPA and the link to DataNose here.
You may also contact the Examinations Board for requests such as an extra resit for a specific subject or an exception for the cum laude regulations. These requests have to be sent by e-mail.
Please be aware: for this kind of requests to be accepted there must be exceptional circumstances. The study advisor can advise you whether it’s a good idea to make a specific request like the ones above to the Examinations Board.
