Planning skills for study

Workshop for international Bachelor’s students

This workshop is about planning skills. During the workshop, you learn how to plan your studies properly to ensure that you study more efficiently.

You start off with great enthusiasm, preparing a solid schedule with a neat study plan. In no time, however, you have to change, adjust and revise your schedule. Ultimately, you end up spending almost all of your study time making new versions of your plan, so the actual task of studying eventually comes under pressure. Sounds familiar to you?

In this workshop, we try to figure out how to improve your planning, so it becomes a practical tool for you, one that gives you the grip you need without becoming an end in itself.

  • What are the factors you must take into consideration? What are the different types of planning?
  • How can you go about it so that it is easy (for you) to keep up?

Basic skills or more?

Please note that during this workshop we will address all aspects of planning. So, if you only actually need to learn the basic skills, please choose the short workshop ‘Planning, in a nutshell’. If you take both workshops there will be a slight overlap, but the two courses both contain new information.

  • This workshop is good supplementary training to the workshop 'Tackling the books', in which you learn study skills (also offered in Dutch: 'De stapel te lijf'), and the training course 'Studie op de rails' (‘On the right track’, only offered in Dutch).
  • This workshop is also offered in Dutch: ‘Plan je studie.
