Each semester, you are required to register for courses during the official registration period. When you register for a course, you are automatically registered for the exams, resits and the Canvas page for that course.
Make sure to register during the official registration period, because only then will you be guaranteed a place in your compulsory courses. The registration period for the Bachelor's and Master's courses offered during semester 1 of the 2019-2020 academic year is:
|Semester||Course registration period opens||Course registration period closes|
|Semester 1||June 13 2019 (08:00)||June 25 juni 2019 (13:00)|
|Semester 2||December 5 2019 (08:00)||December 17 2019 (13:00)|

Go to the 'Overview of registrations’ tab and check your registrations.
You can cancel course registrations at uva.nl/courseregistration. You can only cancel courses up until the end of the first week [or an alternative restriction] after the start of the course.
Please note: it is important to deregister for courses you do not plan to follow. If you do not attend a course for whcih you registered, the result recorded for this course wil be 'NAP' (the Dutch abbreviation for 'non-attendance, counted as exam attempt'). Moreover, you will be preventing a fellow student from occupying your place in the course.
