Track Behavioural Economics and Game Theory
The way in which we frame our problems determines our decisions. In the Behavioural Economics and Game Theory track you focus on the psychology of economic behaviour.
Track Development Economics
The Development Economics track gives you the in-depth knowledge and expertise to help spur growth in developing economies. You learn how to formulate your balanced and critical views on matters of developmental policy.
Track Environmental Economics
In the new Environmental Economics track you explore what effect climate change will have on future welfare. What is the link between human activities, economic development and environmental problems?
Track International Finance and Trade
In the track International Finance and Trade you will analyse the response of countries and international organisations to the instability of international capital flows, the management of international trade and learn to formulate views and perspectives on these and similar matters.
Track Monetary Policy
In the track Monitary Policy, you will get an understanding of how monetary policy and financial institutions affect economic performance. But also on how economic models can be used in the current policy debate.
Track Public Policy
In the Public Policy track, you learn how to apply the latest economic theory and research methods to help governments intervene in the economy.

Specialise in the field of your interest
You can create a study programme that perfectly fits your interest. Beside general courses and track courses, you have the option to do an internship, or study abroad. If you are ambitious and ready to put in some extra work, you can participate in our Honours programme Economics. You will finish this Master's programme with a thesis.
After graduation you are ready for a successful career as a researcher or an expert in organisations such as:

- European Central Bank, European Investment Bank, World Bank, International Monetary Fund;
- national governments;
- international organisations such as the EU;
- applied research institutes;

Studying economics gives you an understanding of the world we live in and its inner workings. If you have a natural interest in what makes the world tick, you have a head start.
Economists analyse a situation, weigh up the evidence and draw various conclusions for policy action. A critical, analytical mind and the ability to think logically are crucial, as is having a way with numbers and an affinity for math.
