Global NGO Worldreader is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented intern with an interest in international development to support the Marketing & Communications (MarCom) team. Because the MarCom team supports the entire global organization, the position provides an opportunity to learn about Worldreader’s impact and play a vital role in its global visibility. This is an exciting opportunity for a student currently enrolled in a master’s program or the final year of a bachelor’s program, who would like to gain experience in international development and to take on important responsibilities from an early stage. The position can be based in Worldreader’s Barcelona office or remotely, depending on specific circumstances. The 4-6 month internship will begin in December 2021 or January 2022, depending on the candidate’s availability.

Over the past 10 years, Worldreader has reached more than 19 million people in communities where paper books, including storybooks and textbooks, are scarce. Worldreader supports programs in five regions (East and West Africa; South Asia, Latin America, and the United States) while readers across 48 countries benefit from our digital library. Since 2010, Worldreader has distributed over 65 million digital books to readers around the world.
● Assist in the planning of marketing campaigns ● Collaborate with different departments and regions across the world ● Support and develop email marketing campaigns via HubSpot ● Support colleagues with platform hygiene and target list segmentation ● Report on campaign performance ● Process small website updates via WordPress ● Align on marketing tactics with other stakeholders within the organization
Our Director of Marketing and Senior Marketing Manager will supervise the internship. At the same time, we have a department of MarComs, including content specialists, program experts and a designer. The intern will be able to work with all of them, shadow work, learn skills and take first responsibilities.
● Excellent English language skills ● EU nationality or NIE (Spanish identification number for foreigners) ● Currently enrolled in a Masters program (or final year of Bachelors program) ● Solid understanding and passion for digital marketing ● Availability to work 25-40 hours per week ● Knowledge of Google Suite, Wordpress, HubSpot and Monday preferred ● Entrepreneurial spirit, proactiveness and reliability ● Intercultural sensitivity and good communication skills ● Analytical skills and good self-organization ● University courses in Marketing, Media, Communications or Business Studies with clear Marketing focus ● Preferably BA completed and currently enrolled in an MA program or final stage of BA program
Monthly intern salary in line with Spanish regulations
