Software

The software made available here is subject to the licence agreements made between the suppliers and the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Either downloading and/or installing it means that you agree to the licence terms and conditions. The software is strictly intended for personal use and may not be made available to third parties, in whatever manner.

SURFspot

As a UvA student, you can acquire software via SURFspot at a reduced price from renowned suppliers such as Adobe, Norton, McAfee and Microsoft. SURFspot is the not-for-profit ICT web shop with a special education discount on software, cloud services and hardware. Once payment has been made, your order will be delivered to your home address within two working days. Sometimes, the software can be downloaded directly, and the data can be kept in your product locker at SURFspot.

Attention: You won't be able to log in on SURFspot with your student account untill two weeks prior to the start of your study programme. For example: If your study programme starts on 3 September, you won't be able to log in to SURFspot untill 20 August.

SURFspot cloud services

Cloud services can be acquired via SURFspot. The SURFspot customer service can answer any questions about this. Also see the FAQ section on their website.

Logging in

Use your UvAnetID to log in to the SURFspot website. If this does not prove possible, either contact the UvA's Student Service Desk on 020-525 1401 or use the form below to get in touch with the Digital Student Service Desk.

Software usage rights

You will not own the software. The right to use the software will lapse as soon as you are no longer a UvA student or the licence agreement has expired.

Support

The ICTS Service Desk does not provide support for SURFspot software. For a few of its programs, SURFspot sells special tutorials.

Software on study centre computers

Study centres have a standard set of software applications that are available on all computers. In addition, some specific software is only available on computers in a particular study centre.

Van Dale online dictionaries

With your UvAnetID, you will have access via the University Library database to various dictionaries, including the Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, English, French and German dictionaries of Van Dale.
