Paying at the UvA

At the University of Amsterdam, it is possible to make payments using your bank debit card and the credit on your student ID card.

For purchases from the sweets and soft drink machines, you can pay using the credit on your student ID card. To pay at the University Library desks, you can pay using the credit on your student ID card and your bank debit card.

ATMs

ATMs are located in the following buildings:

  • City centre: PC Hoofthuis, Spuistraat 134
  • City centre: Oudemanhuispoort 4-6, main entrance

Topping up credit for vending machine payments

You can top up the credit on your student ID card via: www.uva.nl/betaaltegoed

There are also charging points at a number of UvA locations:

Allard Pierson Museum: Oude Turfmarkt 127, in restaurant

AUC: Science Park 113, in entrance

Duisenberg school of finance, Gustav Mahlerplein 117, 1st floor

FNWI: Science Park 904, behind entrance

IWO: Meibergdreef 29, 4th floor

OMHP: Oude Manhuispoort 4-6, central hall

P.C. Hoofthuis: Spuistraat 134, 3d floor opposite lifts 1 and 2

REC B/C: Nieuwe Achtergracht 166, 1st floor in canteen

REC H: Roetersstraat 11, near entrance next to lift

REC M: Plantage Muidergracht 12, 1st floor near vending machine

University Library: Singel 422, alcove opposite canteen

 

You can also top up the credit on your student ID card at the charging points at the larger AUAS/HvA locations.

Topping up via the website incurs a banking charge of €0.50 per top up. Topping up at the charging points is free of charge.
