Collaboration UvA and VU science faculties

The science faculties of the UvA and VU have been collaborating in a number of different areas for many years now.

In some research areas, staff find that intensive collaboration provides considerable added value because, for example, they want to share more knowledge and facilities or explore new perspectives.

In the area of education, a strategic programme portfolio will be developed which includes both separate degree programmes (offered by the UvA or VU) and a number of joint programmes and joint degrees.

No colocation in UvA-VU science collaboration

The Executive Board announced on 21 April 2017 not to pursue the proposed housing plans for the science collaboration with VU Amsterdam. This means that relocation plans for a number of Faculty of Science groups and programmes are not followed through.
