Avicenna Excellence Program 2018

14 December 2017

Are you a motivated master student and interested in multidisciplinary collaboration towards innovation and improvement of healthcare? Apply now for the Avicenna Excellence Program!

What is the Avicenna program?

The Avicenna Excellence Program 2018 is the only multidisciplinary extracurricular program for high potential master students who have affinity with healthcare and innovation. The program is small scaled (30 participants) which ensures personal interaction with all experts and fellow students.

During the program, students work on an innovative solution for a healthcare related problem in interdisciplinary teams.  They are guided though the process by masterclasses, in which they acquire essential entrepreneurial and innovation skills. Furthermore, a selection of diverse and highly regarded speakers provides unique insight in healthcare related topics. Last year’s speakers included Hans de Jong (CEO Philips Benelux), Erik Gerritsen (Secretary-general Ministery of Health, Sports and Wellfare) and Wouter Bos (chairman VU medical center). The program will be concluded with an event in which students present their innovation, and compete for the “Avicenna Best Healthcare Innovation 2017” award.

The themes of the program in 2018 are:

  • Privacy
  • Accessibility of healthcare
  • Communication in healthcare
