The Instep programme is a summer internship programme that offers 100 to 150 participants from all over the world a completely financed internship on the Infosys campus in Bangalore India. Selected students will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of projects, ranging from software engineering to corporate planning, education or research. Please consult the Infosys project page for more information about the internship projects. The internships take place in 2016 and last between 8 and 12 weeks. The timing of the internship is around or during the summer. Selected students can choose the period of their internship in consultation with the universities and Infosys. All expenses including travel expenses, living expenses and insurance are covered by Infosys. On top of that students are offered an internship remuneration. Infosys project and internship pages

As a result of a successful visit to India in March 2012, the University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and Infosys embarked on a strategic partnership. In 2015 Infosys invited the UvA and HvA to become partners of the Infosys InStep programme. This unique internship programme offers excellent students the opportunity to broaden their academic training. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students need to be subscribed to either the UvA or the HVA
  • Bachelor students in their second or third year, Master students or PhD candidates

The eligible study programmes that have been selected by Infosys to introduce candidates are:

UvA Programmes:

  • MBA programmes
  • Science and engineering programmes
  • Information Studies
  • Physics
  • Mathematical studies

HvA Programmes:

  • Programmes from the School of Digital Media & Creative Industry
  • Information Technology & Computer Science
  • Business IT & Management

Participating students are expected to sign a confidentiality agreement upon the start of their internship. Infosys has the goal of recruiting future employees from their intern pool. Participating students are, however, not obliged to respond to any offers made by Infosys.

Selection Criteria

  • A GPA of at least an 8/10 or students who are in an honors programme
  • One or two internship projects of preference. The internship projects

can be found on the Infosys internship projects page

  • A résumé and motivation letter
  • A profile picture and a short profile description of 4-6 sentences

Selection Process

Please refer to the Table below for an overview of the selection process. The application deadline is January the 8 th. In March 2016 Infosys will do a final selection after which the selected students are informed and instructed.

InStep Infosession

To introduce the programme to the UvA and HVA Infosys will hold a walk-in lunch on the 20 th of November.  The Manager of Global Academic Relations at Infosys, Kisha Gupta, will personally fly to Amsterdam to address interested students, professors and staff. This infosession will take place on the Roeterseiland campus in room E 0.22 between 10:00 and 14:00. Aside from a presentation there will be time to personally ask questions to Kisha Gupta.
